Boss Product news
Boss have announced the release of a new range of amplifiers – the Katana range which hold true to Boss and their rock roots. They may look like they are for gigging, but they claim to have a Power Control that limit volume to allow them to be played well in the home environment as well. They come with up to 55 effects that can be edited through the Boss software in addition to 5 different amp settings: Clean, Crunch, Lead, Brown (from the Waza amp), and Acoustic (for acoustic-electric guitars). From what can be seen on the release it doesn’t look like these amps will do modelling, however I don’t think that is going to matter at all, especially with the Waza pedigree backing this product up, which given the Katana name will give us all the glory and tradition of the Japanese culture.
In the most recent round of releases, there is also the Chorus Waza. That blue Chorus that has taken up so much pedal board real estate over the years has now been given the Waza treatment. In general, you are looking at a far superior product for the Waza craft pedals which are built in Japan. I recommend checking out their website here to look at all the info as it is a very well put together site in general.
